WORK to refit the iconic Waverley paddle steamer has been carried out in preparation for her entering passenger service on May 17.
Since she returned to Glasgow last week from a spell in dry dock in Greenock, workers have been pushing to complete the schedule.
This has included installing new flooring in both deck shelters and in the galley, and replacing the deck on the forward promenade and port bridge wing.
Deck shelters and engine room alleyways have also been painted, and there's new upholstered seating in the deck shelters and dining saloon.
New ventilation ducting and extractor fans were fitted in the boiler room, and new insulation was added to the back of the cylinders on the main engine.
The crew will benefit from new showers, and there's new bedding and carpets in cabins.
New week, the crew will go through familiarisation training in preparation for the start of passenger service in May.
