POLICE have locked down a Port Glasgow residential street following a major incident.
Multiple emergency vehicles attended Brookfield Road late last night and into the early hours of this morning as the area was sealed off.
A forensics team and detectives scoured the scene and a heavy police presence remains in place today.
The street is cordoned off as the investigation into what happened continues.
Eyewitnesses told the Telegraph that police were 'there for hours' after ambulances left the scene, while residents were not allowed to re-enter their close - with several homes blocked off by detectives.
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
