NURSERY children in Greenock celebrated the first signs of summer by taking part in some  outdoor learning activities.

Glenpark Children's Centre in Greenock's west end is a haven of happiness, with outside play a key part of the daily routine.

Boys and girls have been lining up to get out in the fresh air, splashing in water, using the play equipment and sitting reading with staff.

Staff at the centre, led by head Patricia Wylie, make every session an exciting one jam-packed with fun activities. They look after around 140 youngsters.

The nursery makes the most of its outdoor space with kids enjoying the slides and having fun with their friends.

Last year Glenpark introduced a relaxation room where the youngsters can also enjoy some peaceful moments in amongst the various stations.  From there they can join in with yoga and meditation or just have a rest.
