A TOP team from an Inverclyde supermarket raised more than £2,000 for a lifesaving Inverclyde charity by taking on a challenging trek.

Wonderful walkers from Tesco in Greenock completed the Kiltwalk on April 28 to generate cash for Man On Inverclyde.

A total of nine members of the team completed the tartan trek and raised an incredible £2,430 for the cause.

The big-hearted staff members decided to generate money for the support service in memory of people across Inverclyde who have taken their own lives.

Greenock Telegraph:
Tesco Greenock team member Karen Williams tragically lost her son Robert Montgomery to suicide last November.

Walker and organiser James Crawford said the team are thrilled with the amount raised.

He added: "We set our target at £500 and we really didn't expect to raise as much as we have.

"I'm sure Man On will be happy with it too.

"We want to thank our customers, and our family and friends, for all their donations and their support.

"The community has been a great support to us."
