DETECTIVES have charged a man in connection with the death of Jack Trainner in Port Glasgow.
The arrested 23-year-old is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court today, Police Scotland confirmed.
A report is to be submitted to the procurator fiscal, the force said last night.
Mr Trainner, 27, was found seriously injured within the common close of a block of flats at the Port's Brookfield Road on April 27.
Police and paramedics were called to the emergency incident at around 9.05pm that night.
Mr Trainner was pronounced dead at the scene.
The arrest and charge of the 23-year-old man in connection with Mr Trainner's death comes after an intensive police operation and a fresh appeal for information issued earlier this week.
