A MAN is to stand trial charged with escaping legal custody at Inverclyde Royal Hospital and later lying about his identity to avoid being arrested.
Dean Reid, 34, was deemed ‘unlawfully at large’ after allegedly breaking free from the IRH on September 11, 2022 and failing to return.
Reid, of Ayr, is also charged with claiming to be ‘John McLean’ on Fox Street later the same day in a bid to evade arrest and pervert the course of justice.
He is due to stand trial at Greenock Sheriff Court on November 27.
