THE French flag was flying in town as two luxurious cruise ships visited Inverclyde at the weekend.
Le Champlain and Le Boreal, both operated by French cruise line Compagnie du Ponant, between them brought almost 500 passengers to Greenock.
Le Boreal arrived on Friday night and stayed until Saturday evening, while Le Champlain arrived in the early hours of Saturday morning before leaving that night.
The 465-foot Le Boreal frequently cruises the Antarctic and has previously appeared on the TV series Mighty Ships.
Le Champlain also explores some of the world's most remote regions, and boasts several notable features, including its ‘Blue Eye’ underwater lounge which has large, oval-shaped portholes.
