LABOUR’S local candidate says that the upcoming general election campaign will be the biggest his party has ever run in the district.

Billboards were unveiled on Port Glasgow Road and Baker Street in Greenock and Shore Street in Gourock as the party took to the streets and hit the phones.

At the same time, Labour’s digital advertising campaign reached over
13,500 voters in Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West over the first four days of the election campaign.

Martin McCluskey, Labour’s candidate for Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West, said: “The momentum is with Labour, but we are taking absolutely nothing for granted.

“Our focus will be on speaking to as many voters as possible between now and July 4 and persuading them that only Labour offers the change that our community – and our country – needs.

“Our community has been badly let down by Tory and SNP Governments that have left us behind.

“It’s time for change, and on 4th July people have an opportunity to vote Labour and make that happen.”
