YOUNGSTERS are invited to hop along to Gourock’s Cardwell Garden Centre this weekend to enjoy some fun with Peter Rabbit.
The centre will host activities to mark National Children’s Gardening Week – which runs until June 2.
Held annually, the event is embraced by schools and community groups across the country and supports the Greenfingers charity – which is dedicated to providing gardens for children in hospices.
This year, the festival has partnered with the World of Peter Rabbit.
Little ones can take part in a free Peter Rabbit treasure hunt at Cardwell Garden Centre, as well as picking up an activity booklet.
Retail general manager Paul Carmichael said: “National Children’s Gardening Week celebrates the fun that gardens hold for kids and the grown-ups who are helping them.
“Children love being in the garden and watching what they have planted grow into plants and flowers.
“We’re encouraging youngsters to grow with Peter Rabbit and give them an interest in gardening that will hopefully stay with them as they get older.
“And in the meantime, we want to make sure they have lots of fun in their gardens.”
