A PAIR of new £25 million cranes will soon be on their way to the Port of Greenock.
The structures, which will stand 39-metres tall, are the largest single investment ever made at the container terminal.
Construction of the cranes was completed by Liebherr Group at Doyle Shipping's dockyard in County Cork earlier this year.
Heavy load carrier Jumbo Jubilee arrived in Cobh last week to transport the structures across the Irish Sea.

Both cranes have now been loaded on to the vessel, but a departure and delivery date is yet to be confirmed.
Port director Jim McSporran previously said that the investment would ‘significantly expand’ freight capability at the terminal, as well as improving efficiency and reducing the facility's carbon footprint.
Last year, Peel Ports Clydeport held a competition amongst schoolchildren in Inverclyde to name the new cranes.
Avaleigh Lang, 10, opted for Craner Swift in a nod to the US popstar, with 10-year-old Frances McFadden’s choice of U-Crane Bolt being selected as the other winning entry.
