THE Inverclyde Christian Initiative is to hold a special general election hustings.

The panel will be on Thursday June 13 in Lyle Kirk (the former Ardgowan Parish Church) on Union Street in Greenock.

All are invited, with tea and coffee served at 6pm before a 6.30pm start.

The Initiative says it is very grateful to the Church of Scotland locally for hosting this event.

Spokesperson Chris Jewell said: "All the candidates attending will be asked to respond to a number of moral and other issues to let people know their own and their party’s position.

"We have written to all the major parties inviting their candidates to this event, while being aware that political parties have until seventh June to announce their candidate if any.

"We look forward to healthy debates around the various issues.’
