GREEN MSP Ross Greer says free bus travel for local young people is proving just the ticket after almost 12,000 passengers signed up.
Figures were recently published showing a high uptake rate locally.
Scotland is the only country in the UK to offer free bus travel for all young people.
Mr Greer said: "The free bus travel scheme for under 22s has been transformative, and in some cases life-changing, for young people in Inverclyde.
"Allowing young people to access school, work or leisure for free is helping to support them and their families through Westminster’s cost-of-living crisis and playing an important role in tackling the climate emergency.
"The scheme has opened up all sorts of opportunities for young people across our communities, creating exciting new chapters, helping them to explore Scotland and develop crucial skills for the future.
"A total of 11,696 young people in Inverclyde have already signed-up for their free pass, and I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t yet registered to do so today at Freebus.scot.”
