CRANES, cruise ships and a colossal Cunard liner stopped off in Greenock during a busy weekend at the Ocean Terminal – and Tele camera club members were on hand to capture all the action.
The arrival of the 113,000-tonne Queen Anne on Saturday morning kicked off a packed two days, which saw three vessels visit the town’s cruise ship terminal.
Members of the Greenock Telegraph Camera Club captured a series of stunning snaps of the impressive vessel during her visit which show the ship’s spectacular scale.
Sunday also saw a colossal crane delivered to the Port of Greenock following a one-day journey from Cobh.
Work is now underway to install the huge piece of machinery, which port operator Peel Ports Clydeport says will help accommodate increased demand from cargo owners and support growth in transatlantic trade.
Camera club member Liam Hunter-Carter snapped a picture of the crane berthed at the port alongside two visiting cruise ships, Le Champlain and Regal Princess.
Eagle-eyed readers also captured images of some of the other large vessels which were making their way along the Clyde at the weekend, which included Saga Ocean Cruises’ Spirit of Discovery and a Royal Navy submarine.
The next cruise ship scheduled to arrive in Greenock is Mein Schiff 3 on June 7.
