A LUXURIOUS hotel and spa resort near Inverclyde has unveiled what has been described as 'visionary' plans to build 30 woodland lodges within its 240-acre estate grounds.

Mar Hall has revealed that a planning application has been submitted with the aim of adding a further 59 bedrooms to its current count of 70.

Strategically positioned to provide views across the River Clyde and Kilpatrick hills, the proposed one, two and four-bedroom luxury lodges would each offer a sense of seclusion, surrounded by forestry, within estate.

General manager Joe Gallacher said: “We are on an exciting journey of transformation across the Resort.

“We’ve already completed significant improvements which our guests and members have experienced first-hand in recent months, and it’s fantastic to progress the next stage of our redevelopment by submitting the planning as part of our ambitious vision for the resort.”

Each lodge would benefit from its own private entrance and outdoor terrace with a hot tub along with its own set of bicycles, allowing guests to tour the grounds and neighbouring Luss Estate.

The plans are in addition to the ongoing multi-million-pound renovation works at Mar Hall. The newly refurbished leisure suite was recentl;y unveiled including a state-of-the-art gym, alongside a 20-metre swimming pool with saunas, steam rooms, relaxation space, and an outdoor thermal suite.

The work on the proposed lodges is expected to start immediately upon approval.
