POLICE have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted and abducted in Port Glasgow on Saturday night.
Officers responded to a report of the incident on Muirdykes Avenue at around 6.50pm.
Police confirmed that a 53-year-old male attended hospital for treatment later in the evening.
Emergency services vehicles and officers were spotted on scene following on the incident.
Officers are now conducting enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.50pm on Saturday, 8 June, 2024, police received a report of the abduction and assault of a 53-year-old man in the Muirdykes Avenue area of Port Glasgow.
"The man later attended hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing."
