THE second of Peel Ports' two new £25m million ship-to-shore cranes has been delivered to Greenock.
Having been shipped over from Cobh in Country Cork overnight on Saturday, the structure arrived at the container terminal last night - a week after the first crane arrived.
Peel Ports Clydeport say the cranes will help to accommodate increased demand from cargo owners, as well as supporting growth in transatlantic trade and future proofing the port.
It is hoped they will fully operational later this year, following stringent testing.
A competition was held to name the structures last year, with local school children submitting entries.
The winners were Avaleigh Lang, 10, who chose Craner Swift, and Frances McFadden, 10, who opted for U-Crane Bolt.
