A FANTASTIC group of fundraisers who have raised more than £500,000 scooped the Community Champion of the Year accolade.
The women behind FUNdraising Inverclyde took the honour at the Greenock Telegraph Community Champion Awards on Friday night in recognition of the incredible impact they've had on people all over district.
The group started out with Laura McCafferty and Stacey Windmill setting up a Facebook page.
Laura said: "We started out just wanting to raise a small amount of money to help people out, but ended up raising £5,000.
"It grew arms and legs and now we've raised more than £500,000.
"We all just love giving back to the community.
"We're organising another fun day this year, and it will be great to see the community coming together and everyone enjoying themselves."
River Clyde Homes sponsored the category.
RCH Group services director Tom Greenan said: "This was a really difficult category to judge and the nominees were all worthy winners.
"We're very happy to support the awards."
