A GOUROCK Tartan Army fanatic has described the scene in Munich as ‘absolutely jumping’ as thousands of Scots arrive ahead of tonight’s Euro 2024 opener.
Stephen McEleny made the journey to Germany yesterday, joining the huge Scottish contingent already in the city.
It is estimated that around 200,000 Scotland supporters have made the trip to Munich over the past few days.
Stephen, 33, said: “I’m now in the heart of Munich after a long day of travelling from Glasgow to Gatwick to Frankfurt to Munich.
“It’s been a long but great day. The German efficiency on the trains was magic.
“We are now at the Marienplatz, the main square, and it’s absolutely jumping. There are thousands of Scotland supporters here.
“There are pipers walking around and the locals are absolutely loving it.

“There is a heavy police presence but everything’s in great nature - fantastic crowds, really fantastic atmosphere, everybody really delighted to be here.
“There’s a lot of singing as well so it’s been absolutely fantastic – hopefully more of the same as the night goes on.”
Keep an eye out for more updates from Stephen throughout the group stages.
