YOUNGSTERS at St Michael's Primary never missed a beat when making a big noise to showcase their new drumming skills.

The primary five pupils at the Port Glasow school told their parents to 'shut up and dance with me' when they performed rousing tunes at a special concert.

They had the rest of the school with their arms in the air and mums and dads tapping their feet to the sound of Walk the Moon.

The youth initiaive is designed to give youngsters access to top quality music tuition and remove barriers to learning music.

Tutors like Amanda work directly with pupils as well as class teachers, giving them the skills and confidence to take music into the classroom

The general introduction to music for all children includes singing, playing instruments and an introduction to careers in music.
