GREEN-MINDED pupils from a Greenock school recently learned about the harmful effects of littering on marine life and the environment as they took part in a clean up at Lunderston Bay.

Children from Cedars School recently visited the local beauty spot armed with litter pickers and gloves.

The litter pick was held as part of the Junior School’s Forest Friday events – which aim to emphasise the importance of stewardship from a young age.

A spokesperson for the school said: “Such initiatives are crucial in cultivating environmentally conscious citizens.

“The beach clean event at Lunderston Bay demonstrated the school's commitment to environmental education and community involvement.

“By instilling these values early, the school aims to inspire pupils to actively contribute to maintaining a clean environment.”
