A GUTTED Scotland superfan from Gourock says the team must 'go again' this Wednesday after watching Steve Clarke's side suffer a humiliating 5-1 defeat in Euro 2024's opening fixture.

Stephen McEleny was one of an estimated 200,000 Scotland fans who made their way out to Germany last week to see Scotland square off against the hosts in Munich.

The 33-year-old has now returned home, but will be back out tomorrow ahead of Scotland's next game against Switzerland in Cologne.

Despite the disappointment of watching his team fall victim to a rampant German performance, Stephen says he and his fellow Tartan Army members had a wonderful time at Munich's Marienplatz central square.

He said: "It [Friday] was an absolute rollercoaster. The city was fantastic and getting to see it during the day, it's an absolutely smashing place.

"Marienplatz was jumping with Scotland supporters to the extent that they had to stop people entering due to overcrowding, which was pretty mental.

"It was fantastic at Marienplatz and a few of the local bars as well, it was great.

"The atmosphere on the way to the game was magic, everyone was just buzzing to be there.

"The Germans were great and the city had tens of thousands of Germans who'd travelled in for the game as well.

"They were all very friendly.

"Then the team didn't half let us down but we go again.

"I've got a couple of nights back home to recharge and then we're back out on Tuesday.

"Hopefully the team will turn up on the park this time."
