THE sun came out to give the community in Gourock a fantastic garden party once again.

Organisers pulled out all the stops to make it a brilliant day to remember in the Gourock Park.

By the end of the afternoon those coming along to the event had helped raise thousands of pounds for vital local charities.

Community councillor Audrey Blincow, who ran the even with a commitee, said: "It was a really brilliant day and it was so well supported. We had a brilliant turn out and we managed to raise lots of money for charity.

"The girl guides who ran the tea tent now have enough money to fund themselves for the year, which is great.

"I would like to thank everyone who helped organise the party and all those who came along on the day.

"It was a massive success. Many thanks to the very many individuals and groups who supported us, performed and contributed on the day.

"Hopefully we shall be back next year even  bigger and better."
