TWO officers were taken to hospital and a man was arrested after a crash involving a police car in Greenock at the weekend.

Part of Bow Road was closed late on Saturday night and into the early hours of Sunday morning following the three-vehicle collision.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.45pm on Saturday June 22, officers attended the Bow Road area of Greenock following a three-vehicle crash involving a police car.

"Two officers were taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital as a precaution.

"A 31-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."

Police said the man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and he was due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court today.
