A MAN is due to face a jury at Greenock Sheriff Court next year charged with sexually assaulting five women over almost a decade.

Douglas Park is accused of attacking an alleged victim at a property in Greenock in August 2015, when he was still a teenager.

It is claimed that Park, now aged 26, repeatedly placed his hands inside the woman’s lower clothing and touched her private parts.

Park is said to have indecently assaulted another woman on a date in November of that year at the Cathouse nightclub in Glasgow city centre when he allegedly placed his hands around her waist, touched her privates over her clothing, grabbed her by the waist and prevented her from being able to get away from him.

According to prosecutors, the accused sexually assaulted a third woman at the same address in Greenock on an occasion in April 2019, by placing his hand inside her dress and touching her thigh and groin area.

A fourth woman was targeted at the same house during the same period when Park placed her hand on his privates, moved his hands inside her lower clothing and sexually assaulted her, the Crown claims.

Court papers allege that on an occasion in February 2022, at student accommodation in Glasgow, Park sexually assaulted a fifth alleged victim by placing his hand inside her lower clothing and touching her privates while she was asleep.

At the most recent calling of the case, defence advocate Duncan McPhie said his client, who has a Glasgow address, maintains his not guilty pleas to the alleged offences.

A jury trial, expected to last four days, is scheduled to start in January 2025.
