PORT Glasgow Salvation Army raised £1,400 for church funds at the Comet Festival.
Members ran the tea tent while their crochet group 'Swing Your Hook' also pitched in with fundraising.
Captain Ian Arthur said that as well as raising funds for their work in the community, it was important that the Salvation Army was taking part in community celebrations.
He said: "It's not just about raising money, it is part of our ethos to be part of the community and to serve people in the community.
"Port folk never cease to amaze me with their generosity and this amount is actually higher than last year.
"These funds will enable us to continue the work we do in the community, our drop-in service on a Friday where people can get a food parcel or vouchers for the Pantry.
"It is also a safe space for people, where the kettle is on and it's a place where they can socialise."
