Battery Park junior parkrun recently celebrated its 142nd event.
The school's out for the summer-themed event saw 23 junior parkrunners, accompanied by 20 volunteers, enjoy a dry, sunny morning at the park.
During the race, seven runners, Elijah, Anna, brothers Theo, Jonah, and Gabriel, along with Thom, and Scott, achieved new personal bests.
Louis was the first boy to finish at 7:06, followed by Elijah at 7:45 with a new personal best, and Theo, who achieved a new personal best of 8:52, as the third boy to finish.
On the girls' side, Anna, acquiring her second personal best in two weeks, finished first at 8:49, with Faye following behind at 8:51.
Amber finished third, completing the run at 10:54.
Three volunteers, Lesley Dick, Jim and Judy, were recognised for achieving their 100th volunteering stint.
All of Jim's volunteering was at Battery Park, while Lesley and Judy volunteered at both 5k parkruns and junior parkruns.
The event was overseen by Fiona Macfarlane, the run director, who was serving in the capacity for the 25th time.
The event organisers are looking for volunteers for the next few weeks.
