It's finally the summer holidays and youngsters now look forward to more than a month off school.
But parents and carers will be looking for ways to fill the day and keep their young ones occupied throughout Inverclyde.
With that in mind, here are five fun and simple family activities to tick off your list during the first few weeks of the holidays.
1. CLIMB LYLE HILL
We don't get many sunny days here in Scotland, but there's nothing better than an ascent of Lyle Hill in the sun.
The Inverclyde landmark sits high over the area, affording stunning views of the Firth of Clyde and its nearby islands.
It is a simple route up to the viewpoint that can be accomplished by the whole family.
2. VISIT NEWARK CASTLE
Newark Castle in Port Glasgow was built in the 15th century and remains largely intact to this day.
Tours of the castle are a must, with guides who bring the rich history of the castle to life.
Alongside unrivalled views of the Firth of Clyde, there plenty to learn on a visit here.
3. TAKE A DIP IN GOUROCK
Gourock Outdoor Pool is known throughout Scotland as a must-visit on hot summer days.
The pool is heated to 29 degrees with a terraced area and traditional patio.
On selected dates throughout the summer, the pool is also open late for swimming under the stars.
4. SUNBATHE AT LUNDERSTON BAY
A hidden gem on the Inverclyde coast, Lunderston Bay offers a beautiful sandy beach.
Spent time on the beach, before heading to the nearby garden centre for a browse.
Just minutes from Greenock and Gourock, you will struggle to find a more accessible beach in the central belt.
5. TAKE A FERRY TRIP
Inverclyde is a hive of ferry activity, with four routes spanning the Firth of Clyde.
Locals and visitors alike can take trips to Rothesay, Dunoon and Kilcreggan from Wemyss Bay and Gourock.
Check out CalMac and Western Ferries for more information on route availability.
