I love Inverclyde and regardless of the election result I’ll still be campaigning for you come Friday.

I left school to serve an apprenticeship as an electrical fitter and it was my role as a shop steward that gave me the passion to want to serve my community.

I used to be in the SNP but under the influence of the Greens they’ve lost their way.

I was the leader of the SNP here for the best part of a decade back when we promoted common sense policies to keep more money in your pocket.

If elected my three top priorities are:

• bringing more, better paid jobs to the area

• securing more funding for the NHS so that you can access services when you need them - like getting a doctors appointment without having to wait in a queue on the phone at 8am

• And delivering a higher State Pension to allow pensioners to properly enjoy retirement

Tomorrow you have a choice - go back to a Labour Party that have let this area down for decades or keep the Labour Party in the past where they belong.

With support for the SNP dropping so sharply, they can’t win here. However, 50% of the people of this constituency still support independence.

Polling shows I’m the most trusted candidate when it comes to independence so my message to you is let’s keep out Labour and rally behind me as the only pro independence candidate strong enough to do so.

The Greenock Telegraph has invited General Election candidates standing to represent Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West to share their views on key topics relevant to the area.

Today is their final column and the candidates' last chance to tell voters why they should vote for them.

Polls open for the UK General Election at 7am on Thursday, July 4.
