A NEW show written by talented Gourock writer David Carswell is premiering at the Pavilion in Glasgow in September.

Glasgow Kiss is a musical featuring the work of Scottish bands who shaped the 1980s, as the backdrop to a love story drama.

David, 50, who has enjoyed major success with his adaptation of Irvine Welsh's PORNO, which toured the country including London's West End, and The Tommy Burns Story, is excited about his new project.

He said: "Glasgow Kiss features songs by artists connected to the greatest city in the world - Simple Minds, Primal Scream, Texas, The Bluebells, AC/DC, Gerry Cinnamon, Frankie Miller, Biffy Clyro, The Silencers, Blue Nile.

"It's about a guy James who returns to Glasgow after 20 years for a family funeral and while home bumps into his first love"

David added: "There is plenty of humour, a healthy chunk of romance and cracking songs. It also contains swearing - well it is set in Glesga, so what do you expect?"

The musical runs from Monday September 30 to Saturday October 5.
