A GREENOCK man charged with smashing a glass bottle and damaging items at a home in the town is said to have left the property in a ‘state of disarray’, according to prosecutors.

James Johnston allegedly shouted, swore and acted aggressively at an address on Cornhaddock Street on May 6.

It is claimed that the 37-year-old smashed a glass bottle, refused to return a set of keys when requested to do so and uttered offensive remarks towards his ex-partner and her sister.

Johnston, of Greenbank Mews, is accused of wilfully or recklessly destroying or damaging items within the property without reasonable excuse and leaving it in a state of disarray.

A further pre-trial hearing is scheduled for next week, however, solicitor Aidan Gallagher told the court that ‘there is a real prospect of resolution’ in the case.
