GREENOCK Sea Cadets are feeling ship shape after receiving a large donation from generous fundraisers.
Ye Corporation of Square Men Ayr Shed No 2 have made a donation of £1,000 to support the work of the local group.
Matt McGibbon, Worthy Deacon of Ye Corporation of Square Men Ayr Shed No 2, told the Tele they were delighted to support the good cause.
He said: "We fundraise for children's charities, not big charities just ones which are local to Inverclyde and Ayr.
"We knew the sea cadets needed some help and we were happy to make one.
"Hopefully promoting this in the Telegraph will encourage others to support this great cause."
Lieutenant Commander Jim Hearl of Greenock Sea Cadets said he was pleased to receive support from the group.
He added: "We're grateful for all donations we get but this particular donation is of quite substantial size and will help a great many cadets in the local area who are members.
"THis will go a long way to support what we're trying to achieve here.
