A MAN has admitted assaulting a woman to her injury and taking a mobile phone from her as she tried to dial 999.
William Wallace pleaded guilty to attacking his partner or ex-partner at Wemyss Bay Caravan Park on July 13 last year.
The 29-year-old seized struggled with the woman, causing her to fall to the ground.
He attempted to strike her with a plastic bag containing clothing and tried to seize the mobile phone.
Wallace continued to struggle with the woman before seizing her by her thumb and taking the device from her while she was attempting to contact emergency services.
Sheriff Colin Pettigrew said: “I’m concerned that one of your previous convictions has a domestic libel, as does this one.
“I think justice requires that I get a background report.”
Wallace was also charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards the woman, but his plea of not guilty was accepted by the Crown.
Sentence was deferred for the preparation of reports, with Wallace, of Glasgow, set to return to court on July 31.
