POLICE have arrested and charged a man following an alleged serious assault which left another man in hospital.
Officers rushed to Stanton Square in Port Glasgow at around 5:30pm on Saturday, July 13 after receiving a report of an incident.
Police Scotland have confirmed that a 44-year-old man was taken to hospital.
They have also revealed that a 61-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and was due to appear in court on Monday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024, officers received a report of a serious assault on Stanton Square, Port Glasgow.
“A 44-year-old man was taken to hospital.
“A 61-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday, July 15.”
