A FANTASTIC fundraiser has raised thousands of pounds for a vital children’s charity.
Carol Ann Tracey and her husband Tom recently handed over a cheque for over £5,000 to Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).
Carol Ann has been making and selling tablet to raise money for the charity for over and decade, and the latest donation takes her overall total to almost £60,000.
Commenting on the donation, she said: “I’ve been making the tablet for years and selling it to my friends and family.
“I’ve also got a good contact at Chivas Regal who buys hundreds of bags every there, the staff buy it.
“I support this charity because I was a childminder for 25 years and there was a family who were friends with another family who had two children with Batten disease.
“That was in 2013 and I’ve been supporting this since, I must’ve raised well over £50,000 in that time.
“It’s a mere drop in the ocean compared to what these charities need.”
Cara Bowden, of CHAS, added: “This is a great amount and we’re really appreciative of it.
“The money will go towards families that are using services across Scotland as well as the CHAS at home team that will be out and about in the community.
“We’re very grateful for this and we’re glad they thought of us in these tough times when there are so many charities who are also deserving of support.”
