MEMBERS of a Greenock gym have raised thousands of pounds for charity after putting their fitness to the test.
UrbanFit on Campbell Street recently sent several teams to the Battle Cancer event at Oriam in Edinburgh.
The competitors were challenged to complete 20,000 reps in their team across five stations.
UrbanFit’s 30-strong squad raised £3,275 for the Schiehallion Ward at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow in memory of a Gourock boy who passed away at the age of 12.
Callum Tosh died in June 2020 after being diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma.
His dad, Graeme, started attending the gym in a bid to improve his health and state of mind.
Gym owner Andy Armour said: “It was a really good day. If we include gift aid we're hitting about £4,000.”
