A PAIR of popular local music acts teamed up to wow a group of over 5,000 people last weekend.
Gourock DJ Bruce Glenny and Inverclyde duo The Laurettes played together live at the Tartan Heart Festival in the Belladrum Estate, near the village of Beauly.
The Laurettes performed on the festival’s garden stage for a packed crowd and concluded their impressive set with DJ Bruce making a guest appearance.
The gig-goers were treated to the first live performance of the talented local musician’s high energy dance remix track ‘Mainstage’, which will be released on August 9.
The performance was so well received that the two acts were invited back to play a second set on Saturday evening.
Bruce, a finalist in the rising star category of this year’s Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce Awards, said: “After the buzz from TRNSMT this was something new for me.
“We played on a large stage to a great Highland crowd.
“The reception from the audience was outstanding and it’s safe to say the remix of Mainstage went down very well with everybody dancing and singing along.
“The rain came on during the track but it certainly didn’t dampen the crowd’s spirits.
“Thanks to both Lauren and Lynette [of The Laurettes} for inviting me.”
Bruce and The Laurettes will be teaming up once more at the Ardgowan Distillery Open Day on September 7.
