TWO people have been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on the M8 this afternoon.
Emergency services attended the scene between junction 27 at Arkleston and junction 26 at Hillington shortly after 1:15pm today.
The motorway was closed to westbound traffic for more than an hour following the collision.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene, where firefighters were met by a collision involving three vehicles.
"Crews used specialist cutting equipment to lead one casualty to safety before transferring them into the care of Scottish Ambulance Service personnel.
"The casualty was thereafter taken to Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
"An additional casualty was transferred to the same hospital for treatment.
"Crews left the scene after working to make the area safe."
Traffic Scotland says the route has now reopened fully.
