SUPPORT is available to tens of thousands of young people in Inverclyde eagerly awaiting the outcome of their SQA exams.
Pupils across the country will receive their National, Higher and Advanced Higher results on August 6.
A copy of their Scottish Qualifications certificates will be delivered to their home address, with those who have signed up for a MySQA account also receiving a text or email the same morning.
On results day, the SQA will open its Candidate Advice Line at 8am to answer questions.
Pupils will also be able to speak with dedicated careers advisors on the Skills Development Scotland helpline.
Fiona Malone, SQA’s Inverclyde liaison manager, said: “Candidates with concerns about their National 5, Higher, or Advanced Higher grades can appeal their grade for free.
“I would encourage anyone considering an appeal to speak to their teacher or lecturer and discuss their options with them first.
“Candidates should also look out for the ‘Your Results’ guide which will be included alongside their Scottish Qualifications Certificate on Tuesday 6 August.
“In it there is useful information about how their exams and coursework have been marked, how their grades have been decided, deadlines for appeals, and what to do if they have any questions about their results.”
The SQA’s free appeals service will open at 9am on results day, with candidates able to submit a request directly or via their school or college.
Priority appeals will be available to those with conditional offers for college, university or employment.

This year, the exam body will also trial a system which allows pupils to see their marked exam papers before deciding whether to appeal a result.
The trial is limited to five subjects and will open on August 6.
The Candidate Advice Line can be contacted from 8am until 6pm on results day on 0345 279 1000.
It will also be open from 8:30am-5pm on August 7 and 9.
Skills Development Scotland's helpline is available on 0808 100 8000 from 8am-8pm on August 6 and 7, and 9am-5pm on August 8 and 9.
