DETECTIVES are on the hunt for a suspect alleged to have seriously assaulted a man in a Greenock pub on Saturday.
Police say a 42-year-old man was seriously assaulted in a licensed premises on Ann Street at around 11:30pm on August 3.
The injured man attended Inverclyde Royal Hospital and was released after treatment.
Police are now searching for a male suspect who is described as being of Asian appearance, with a slim build and dark-coloured hair.
Detective Constable Rebecca Cox said: “Our inquiries are ongoing as we establish the details of this incident and trace the man responsible.
"We are continuing to study CCTV footage and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with personal footage that may assist us to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 0089 of 4 August.
"Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
