A WOMAN was taken to hospital after emergency services rushed to the scene of a car crash in Greenock where a car came to a stop just inches from a home.
A black Volkswagen which appeared to have gone over the edge of an embankment on Wellington Street was spotted next to a damaged black Seat earlier today.
Police and ambulance staff were on the scene at around 11:00am providing assistance to those involved in the crash and a woman was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital to be checked over.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a two-car crash on Wellington Street, Greenock around 11.05am on Monday, 5 August, 2024.
“Emergency services attended and one woman was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital as a precaution.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 11:11 today to attend a road traffic collision on Wellington Street, Greenock.
"We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and one patient was transported to Inverclyde Royal Hospital.”
