AN event dedicated to supporting and celebrating recovery across Inverclyde is being held in Greenock later this month.
Your Voice will host Hope in the Square on Thursday, August 29.
Recovery development co-ordinator Dean Ferrie is taking the lead in organising the event which will run in Clyde Square from 11am to 4pm.
On the day, representatives from organisations which help people in their recovery journey will be on-hand to provide support and advice.
Dean said the needs of the community provided the motivation and inspiration for the event.
He added: "We've had people coming to us in the past who haven't known where to start in their recovery, and haven't known what's available to them
"This event will bring everything together in one place and show people where they can go for this kind of help.
"It will raise awareness and celebrate recovery in all its forms."
Dean said the event will be a precursor to recovery month in September.
He has invited organisations and groups from all over Inverclyde to be part of the day, and around 15 organisations have already signed up for information stands.
Food and refreshments will be provided, and members of the Your Voice and Inverclyde Faith in Throughcare (IFiT) Recovery Jam will be performing live.
People can also take some time out at arts and crafts stalls.
Dean said he's been overwhelmed by the support provided for the event by the Your Voice team and by people all over Inverclyde.
He said the event is aimed at people right at the start of their recovery story, and those who have made it to the other side.
Dean added: "Inverclyde is an amazing place for recovery and we want to celebrate all the success stories.
"Everything on the day will be focused on the great work in recovery that's being done.
"Anyone who is looking for a bit of help and guidance will be made to feel very welcome."
