TWO men have been arrested and charged by police following a 'disturbance' near Greenock's Holiday Inn last night.
Officers were called to a disturbance in the Main Street area of Greenock at around quarter past midnight on Wednesday.
Two men, aged 25 and 28, were arrested and charged and are now due to appear in court in connection with the alleged incident.
The Telegraph understands that the disturbance took place in the vicinity of the hotel, which has been used in recent years to house male asylum seekers while their claims are being processed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 0.15am on Wednesday, 7 August, to a report of a disturbance in the Main Street area of Greenock.
“Officers attended and two men, aged 25 and 28, were arrested and charged in connection and due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Thursday, August 8."
