COUNCILLORS have signed off on plans for a new house in Kilmacolm.

Inverclyde's Planning Board has given permission for the four-bedroom detached property to be build in the rear garden of Redgates, at the junction of Castlehill Road and Carruth Drive.

The site is part of the lawn at the rear of a pre-existing detached house, and there are currently three trees in this area.

At a meeting of the Planning Board in June, councillors elected to continue the application so that a site visit could be carried out.

The visit took place on July 9 and gave members the opportunity to consider the site and its surroundings.

Permission had been given in 2022 for the principle of a house on the site, but consent was still required from Inverclyde Council for the detailed designs.

Planning officers had recommended approval.
