THREE people have been arrested and charged following an overnight disturbance in Kilmacolm.

Police were called to Finlaystone Road at around 11:40pm on Friday night.

Officers then arrested and charged a 40-year-old man in connection with an alleged serious assault on a 32-year-old man. 

The 32-year-old man was also arrested and charged in connection with the incident and both men are due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday. 

A 37-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in court at a later date, having also been arrested and charged in connection with the disturbance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.40pm on Friday, 9 August, 2024, we were called to a report of disturbance in Finlaystone Road, Kilmacolm.

"Officers attended and a 40-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault on a 32-year-old man. 

"The 32-year-old man was also arrested and charged in connection with the disturbance and both men are due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday, 12 August, 2024. 

"A 37-year-old woman was also arrested and charged in connection with the disturbance and is due to appear in court at a late date.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
