FERGUSON Marine’s workforce has been hailed for a decades-long fundraising effort which has brought in more than £60,000 for Ardgowan Hospice.
Staff at the Port Glasgow yard have been making contributions from their own wages in support of the local charity for at least two decades.
Yard workers Lawrence Gemmell, Adam Muir, Donny Orr and Paul O’Donnell recently handed over the latest £2,500 contribution to Hospice fundraising officer Joanna Hunter.
Joanna said: “This is a phenomenal amount, and we'd like to thank all the staff at Fergusons who continue to give to the hospice from their salary.
“We’re delighted to keep getting this support from Ferguson staff.
“Lawrence started this when his wife passed away and they’re one of the strongest supporters of the hospice.”
