THE iconic Waverley has been nominated for a top award – but the paddle steamer needs passengers’ votes to secure the prize.
The vessel is up for ‘Glasgow’s Favourite Business’ at the Glasgow Business Awards, which will take place at DoubleTree by Hilton on October 3.
Waverley faces competition from radio station Clyde 1, Merchant City restaurant Café Gandolfi and the Glasgow Film Theatre.
Boveda Hair and Beauty in Maryhill and software company Nursery Story are also nominated for the award.
A public poll has been launched to select the winner, with the votes being accepted until 12pm on August 30.
A spokesperson for Waverley Excursions said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be recognised and need your support to help us win.

“Waverley has been an integral part of Glasgow and the river Clyde for the past 77 years and is loved by those in Glasgow and beyond.
“We take pride in knowing we have helped create so many special moments and memories over the years and that’s why we believe we would be perfect for this award.”
