FERRIES to and from Inverclyde are liable to disruption today as a yellow weather warning for rain and strong winds comes into force.

The Met Office has warned the west of Scotland could see gusts of 50 to 60 miles per hour between 11am today and 8pm tomorrow.

CalMac’s sailings from Gourock to Dunoon and Kilcreggan may see last-minute cancellations due to the adverse weather forecast.

Services between Wemyss Bay and Rothesay could also be affected by the conditions.

Western Ferries sailings between McInroy’s Point and Hunters Quay were suspended for a short period this morning due to low tides, but the service has since resumed.
