A new board games club launches at the Salvation Army in Port Glasgow tonight.
It is aimed at grown-ups who love all sorts of traditional games, from Scrabble to Monopoly.
It is the brainchild of Lynn Campbell who hopes to bring other like-minded people together for a night of old-fashioned fun.
Ian McReath, a volunteer with the Salvation Army, who is going along, said: "I enjoy card games and board games, when I was young we used to sit around the table and play dominoes and draughts, me and my four sisters.
"I don't think kids interact with each other now. You never see kids out playing in the street.
"I think board games help with the communication skills of children and adults."
Alexander McBrearty said: "I play chess and draughts. It keeps you mind active and I think it's good for people with mental health problems."
Thursday night's fun runs at the Salvation Army's hall in King Street from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.
