A FILM created by Inverclyde students will be screened for the first time on Friday night.

Heartache Souvenirs evolved through the RIG Arts film school project, which was funded by The National Lottery Young Start Fund.

The film, a love story with a Northern Soul backdrop, was penned by Greenock writer Danny McCahon, and directed and produced by Inverclyde artist Jason Orr.

It was shot over five days in locations in and around Inverclyde, including the Loreto Club, and was created by students who are all under 25.

Sally Molloy, the 2022 Northern Soul Dance World Champion, features in the production.

A group of six other short films created by local young people and shot in locations across Inverclyde will also be screened on the night.

The event, at the Waterfront Cinema, begins at 7.30pm.
