A GROUP of budding young musicians have taken the first steps in their musical journey at a four-day camp.
The event, organised by Riverside Youth Band, saw children learn about the basic principles of playing a brass instrument in a fun and nurturing environment.
During the camp at Port Glasgow New Parish Church, the little ones used a plastic instrument called a pBuzz, as well as taking part in lots of musical games and activities.
They had the chance to play along to hits from the likes of George Ezra, Bruno Mars and James Brown.
Outreach co-ordinator Laura Good, who led the camp, said: “Learning a musical instrument can be a transformative experience for a young person, so we were delighted to be able to offer another pBuzz Music Camp to youngsters from Inverclyde.
"The progress in four days was fantastic, coming in the door tentatively, and growing into confident young people who made new friends and will hopefully go on to have a lifelong love of music - that's what it's all about."
Riverside Youth Band – the reigning Scottish youth champions and the Tele’s Community Champion Live Music Award winners – recently resumed rehearsals at Port Glasgow New Parish Church.
Young brass and percussion players of all levels are welcome to get involved.
